How is periodontal disease treated?

Smoking and irregular oral and dental care are factors that invite periodontal diseases. Before periodontal disease treatment, the patient's mouth and teeth structure are examined. The factors that cause this are determined. The pockets between the teeth and gums are measured and a treatment plan is made according to their amount. The aim of the treatment is to tighten these pockets as much as possible. Microorganisms settled in deep pockets cannot be cleaned by tooth brushing. Dental tartar cleaning is the first stage of this treatment. Tartar, also known as dental tartar, must be cleaned once a year. If not cleaned, microorganisms that settle in the dental pockets reach down to the bone and the extent of the damage increases. Another treatment option, curettage, is a method used to flatten the root surface. The attachments that stick to the root surface are scraped off and thus the gums are allowed to reattach to the root surface. Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty, Flap Operation, Crown Lengthening Operation, Tissue Grafts and Aesthetic Gum Applications are among the other options of this treatment.
